The Role That Can Embed External Apps: Owner

Zendo allows you to connect external apps to improve your internal processes and customer experience. This way, you can enhance the experience of both your team members and clients, sharing with them videos, documents, spreadsheets, and other files, which can be viewed without leaving the app.

How To Connect External Apps?

1. Select Client Portal from the left side-panel,
2. From the drop-down menu, select Sidebar,
3. On the new page, select "Add sidebar element",
4. From the drop-down menu, select App,

5. In the pop-up window, choose which app you want to add by selecting "Add app" under the app you want,

6. Fill out the new fields:

  • Slug: part of the URL that will lead to your external or custom app on the Zendo platform,
  • Content: URL link or an iFrame that allows to embed content from the external app.

7. Select "Preview content" to check if the content was embedded correctly.

Make sure that the file you want to embed is public or at least accessible to anyone who has a link. If it has restricted access, other users won't be able to view it.

How To Embed External Apps?

Embedding is used to place content directly on the platform instead of just linking to it. This way, users don't have to leave the app to view additional content; they can see it on the platform.

Airtable

A collaboration platform used for task and project management, as well as for creating rich databases.

To embed a view:
1. Go to the view you want to embed,
2. Select the "Share and sync" button,

3. From the drop-down menu, select "Copy link",

4. Paste the link in the "Content" field in Zendo,

5. Use the "Preview content" button to see if the embedded content works properly.

Calendly

A scheduling platform that makes it easy for clients to book any meetings with you.

To embed an event type:
1. Go to the event type card you want to embed,
2. Select the "Copy link" button at the bottom of the card,

3. Paste the link in the "Content" field in Zendo,

4. Use the "Preview content" button to see if the embedded content works properly.

Coda

A collaborative workspace where you and your team can create and manage documents, track your progress, and create roadmaps.

To embed a Coda document:
1. Go to the document you want to embed,
2. Select the "Share" button at the top,

3. In the pop-up window, select the "Copy link" button,

4. Paste the link in the "Content" field in Zendo,

5. Use the "Preview content" button to see if the embedded content works properly.

Figma

An interface design application meant for designing, prototyping, and devoloping products, as well as collecting feedback in real-time.

To embed a file:
1. Go to the Figma file you want to embed,
2. Select the "Share" button at the top right,

3. At the bottom of the pop-up window, select "Copy link",

4. Paste it in the "Content" field in Zendo,

5. Use the "Preview content" button to see if the embedded content works properly.

FrameIO

A collaborative tool that makes gathering feedback on uploaded files, videos, and images easy.

To embed a presentation:
1. Go to the presentation you want to embed,
2. Select the "Share" button at the top right,
3. Select the "Share as Presentation" option,

4. In the new pop-up window, copy the link on the left under the "Link access" section,

5. Paste the link in the "Content" field in Zendo,

6. Use the "Preview content" button to see if the embedded content works properly.

Google Docs

An online word processor for creating and sharing online documents of all kinds.

To embed a document:
1. Go to the document you want to embed,
2. Select the "Share" button at the top right corner,

3. In the pop-up window, select the "Copy link" button,

4. Paste the link in the "Content" field in Zendo,

5. Use the "Preview content" button to see if the embedded content works properly.

Google Sheets

A spreadsheet application for sharing reports, performance metrics, project information, and more, with team members and clients alike.

To embed a spreadsheet:
1. Go to the spreadsheet you want to embed,
2. Select the "Share" button in the top right corner,

3. Select the "Copy link" button in the bottom left corner,

4. Paste the link in the "Content" field in Zendo,

5. Use the "Preview content" button to see if the embedded content works properly.

Loom

A screen recorder app that comes with superb video editing functions, particularly helpful with creating engaging onboardings and presentations.

To embed a video:
1. Go to the video you want to embed,
2. Select the link icon at the top,

3. Paste the link in the "Content" field in Zendo,

4. Use the "Preview content" button to see if the embedded content works properly.

TypeForm

A form and a survey builder, helpful in gathering data from your clients or anonymous surveys from your team members.

To embed a TypeForm file:
1. Go to the form you want to share,
2. Select "Share" at the top,

3. Select the "Copy link" button,

4. Paste the link in the "Content" field in Zendo,

5. Use the "Preview content" button to see if the embedded content works properly.

YouTube

A video sharing platform that can be used to upload tutorials, onboardings, or any other materials for your team members and clients.

To embed a video:
1. Go to the YouTube video you want to embed,
2. Select the "Share" button under the video,

3. Select the "Copy" button,

4. Paste the link in the "Content" field in Zendo,

5. Use the "Preview content" button to see if the embedded content works properly.

How To Embed Custom Apps?

If there's anything else you want to embed, you can do that by choosing the "Custom" app in the pop-up window. Most applications follow similar instructions when it comes to embedding files, so look for the "Share" button and find the HTML code to be embedded in the "Content" field in Zendo. If you have trouble with that, you can always contact us on Discord.

I Can't Embed An App!

Most probably, there was something wrong with the code or the external app doesn't allow embedding. If you're unsure of the root of the issues, get in touch with us on Discord.
